ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Reporting to the Supervisor, Call Centre, the Fundraising Telemarketer makes outbound fundraising calls helping to convert existing single gift donors to monthly donors and solicit donations and works against specific revenue and donor acquisition targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Soliciting donations on behalf of the Baycrest Foundation. • Working against daily and weekly sales targets, making outbound solicitation calls, reading from scripts that present a compelling story that persuades prospects to make a donation to the Baycrest Foundation; responding to questions from prospects. • Making outbound welcome and thank you calls to donors. • Handling inbound sales calls during peak-volume times. • Obtaining customer information such as name, address, and payment method, and entering orders into computers. • Recording names, addresses, donations and other salient information about prospects. • Recommending adjustments to scripts to better target the needs and interests of specific individuals. • Maintaining records of contacts, accounts and donations. • Finding ways to improve the donor experience through exceptional customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum one (1) year of experience working in an outbound sales environment with proven success in meeting sales targets. • Experience working on telemarketing campaigns for a charitable organization is an asset. • Experience working with the technology in a call centre environment (i.e. familiar with dialer systems). • Experience with Raiser’s Edge an asset. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to engage easily and effectively with donors. • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work courteously and tactfully with colleagues and the public. • Demonstrated excellent client-focused service skills and an understanding of best practices in customer service. • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of a second language, including Hebrew, Russian or other Eastern European language, with excellent communications skills. • Excellent attention to detail. • Good time management skills, including the ability to identify priorities and organize workload to meet varying demands originating from multiple sources. • Proven ability to complete work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
