The Human Resources team has a full-time opportunity
for a service-oriented
HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR
to support an assigned portfolio of client groups.
Non-Union – 70 hours bi-weekly (1.0 F.T.E.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Completing and processing documentation for events throughout the employee lifecycle, i.e. new hires, leaves of absences, benefits changes, transfers, terminations, etc. This includes preparing documentation, letters and entering employee information into applicable systems including HRIS, web-based third party systems, in a timely and accurate manner.
• Meeting with employees considering retirement to explain related benefit processes and completing retirement paperwork.
• Participating in the recruitment process of unionized staff for assigned portfolio, including: drafting postings, coordinating interview logistics, drafting interview questions, conducting references, preparing letters of offer, etc.
• Supporting, in collaboration with the Recruitment Specialist, recruitment projects and the enhancement of recruitment processes.
• Investigating and responding to general employee and manager concerns/ inquiries on a timely basis regarding employment related issues, including salary, pay adjustments, vacation, seniority, benefits and HOOPP.
• Administering Human Resources programs, i.e. professional certification, conflict of interest and others, as assigned.
• Supporting compensation programs, including salary administration, completing job descriptions, conducting market surveillance and analysis.
• Assisting with the implementation of mass communication campaigns for such projects as benefit changes, over-age dependents and conflict of interest.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
• Completion of a relevant post-secondary program in Human Resources Management.
• Working toward the Canadian Human Resources Professional (‘CHRP”) designation is an asset.

Experience
• Two (2) years related generalist experience in a client-focused Human Resources department, preferably in a health care or related organization.
• Experience with recruitment & selection, on-boarding and orientation is preferred.
• Experience in compensation/salary administration is preferred.
• Experience working with collective agreements is an asset.
• Experience administering the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (‘HOOPP’) or similar pension plan is an asset.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Competencies
• Exceptional client service orientation and skills.
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet knowledge, and familiarity with HRIS (Empath or equivalent) systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including strong verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and people skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization and with all external contacts.
• Strong follow-through & attention to detail.
• Strong problem solving, organization & analytical skills.
• Ability to organize time, multi-task and set priorities to meet various deadlines and maintain a flexible schedule in a fast paced work environment.
• Good knowledge of the Employment Standards Act and regulations.
• Working knowledge of current legislation, human resources practices, procedures and policies.
• Sense of urgency to get priorities completed on time.
• Adaptable, flexible, self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work within, and support other members of the Human Resources team.
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
