The Community Day Centre for Seniors’ Freeman Family Day Centre/Mountainview Club has an opportunity for a SECRETARY COMMUNITY DAY CENTRE Temporary Pro-rated – Contract Six (6) months 0.80 F.T.E. – 56.0 Hours Bi-Weekly SEIU Clerical – Hourly Rate Scale: $19.2845 to $21.0671
Responsibilities include: • Preparing accurate daily lists for distribution to Transportation/Food Services. • Daily communication with dispatch, Transportation Company, drivers, families, members. • Entering data on Meditech system relating to members, transportation/dining room lists. • Typing of correspondence, minutes, client reports, lists, charts, tables and spreadsheets. • Typing of updates of Day Centre Transportation Policy Manual. • Providing telephone reception and customer service to clients and families. • Photocopying and distribution of copies, preparing welcome packages for new clients. • Collection, sorting and distribution of mail, preparation for mass mail outs. • Collecting members’ charges and monthly fees and making daily deposits to Finance department. • Collecting newsletter articles for print shop. • Creating the yearly calendars. • Collecting monthly transportation statistics and updating appropriate statistical database. • Preparing members’ name tags and photos for files. • Responsible for ordering supplies (i.e. Grand & Toy, Stores, Balk, etc.) • Other administrative duties as required, including providing coverage in the Samuel Lunenfeld Mountainview Club. • Adhering to infection control practices, policies and procedures.
Qualifications include: • Three to five years of office experience is preferred. • Computer skills (MEDITECH, MS Word, MS Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Bold Publisher). • Able to work on own initiative and to demonstrate excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills. • Experience working with frail elderly with moderate to severe cognitive impairments • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality. • Professional telephone manner.
