The Baycrest Foundation has a full-time opportunity for a highly motivated and strategic EVENTS COORDINATOR (Events, Corporations and Foundations)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Reporting to the Event Specialist, Pro-Am, the Event Coordinator will provide fundraising and event support for the Scotiabank Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s which is Baycrest’s flagship hockey tournament.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Coordinating the fundraising as it pertains to the Scotiabank Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s. • Working closely with captains and players to provide assistance with their fundraising goals. • Assisting in recruiting new event participants. • Identifying potential donors and developing various methods to build close relationships with donors, including stewardship (and recognition events). • Developing and recommending new initiatives for increasing fundraising potential. • Ensuring assigned tasks from committee meetings are being implemented as well as following up with staff to address any questions or concerns; co-ordinating lay committees and volunteers. • Attending other Foundation events to promote the mission of the Baycrest Foundation. • Ensuring that player, sponsor and donor information is updated on Raiser’s Edge as well as any websites that are being used and is accurate at all times. • Assisting with the development and adherence of event plans and budgets. • Identifying procedures and developing resources needed to help achieve the success of the Foundation events. • Providing staff support and general assistant duties for other Foundation fundraising events.
QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s Degree or combination of related education and experience. • Completion of a Fundraising and Volunteer Management program of study (i.e. Humber College) is an asset. • Certified Fund Raising Executive (‘CFRE’) credential is an asset. • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a professional fundraising environment. • Minimum two (2) year experience in event coordination. • Proficient with Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet. • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills. • Proven ability to multi-task with competing priorities to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled on time. • Outstanding organizational skills. • Advanced analytical skills.
