The Medical Services Division at Baycrest currently has an opportunity for a
for a One-Year Contract With the Potential to Extend
Non-Union - Full Time – 70 Hours Bi-weekly
Conducting literature reviews.
Assisting with the collection of qualitative and quantitative data.
Developing focus group/interview guides.
Conducting individual interviews.
Leading focus groups.
Coding and analyzing qualitative data.
Assisting in database construction.
Conducting reviews of patient and care team records and entering relevant data into a database.
Inputting quantitative data into a database.
Assisting with quantitative data analysis.
Assisting in the preparation of grants.
Assisting the development and amendments of Research Ethics Board (‘REB’) Applications.
Assisting in production of reports, manuscripts and presentations.
Recruiting and gathering informed consent from study participants.
Identifying and responding to problems in a timely and effective manner.
Liaising with the lead investigators, research team and clinical providers throughout the research process.
4 year Honours Bachelor degree and 5 years’ experience as a Research Assistant, or a general 3 years Bachelor of Science degree with experience in a specialized field and 5 years’ experience as a Research Assistant, or a Masters degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
Experience conducting interviews and leading focus groups.
Experience analyzing qualitative data from interviews and focus groups using qualitative software (e.g. NVivo).
Experience with quantitative data analysis using statistical software considered an asset.
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PubMed database, RefWorks or other reference management systems.
Ability to work independently.
Experience interacting and working with patient populations.
Experience working with and testing older adults (some with mild cognitive impairment).
Experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and interview skills.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Strong interest in gerontology and/or healthcare is considered an asset.
Detail oriented, accurate, dependable and flexible individual.
Highly motivated, with initiative and capable of multi-tasking.
