Bell’s National Hosting Service team is looking for a Product Manager to manage & guide the company’s cloud computing product launches, strategy & future roadmap. Reporting to the Director of Product Management for Hosting & Cloud Computing, you will be working in a fast paced environment on a number of strategically important projects & new product introductions. Division Overview Bell Hosting is the home of managed IT data centre & cloud computing services within Bell Canada. We manage several state-of-the-art data centers across the country (Calgary, Toronto & Montreal) and work with our clients to provide the highest level of security, redundancy and monitoring available. Our product offering includes traditional co-location, managed hosting services, as well as new cloud based services including Virtual Data Centre & Software-as-a-Service offers. Position Detail As the Product Manager for Cloud Infrastructure Services, your tasks will include Identifying technologies & trends, and understanding how to use those technologies to solve customer problems, specifically relating to Cloud Infrastructure IaaS, Cloud Storage, Virtual Desktop, Backup & Recovery as a Service, PaaS Building a detailed business case and product description from early development to final approval and launch Communicating the value of a solution and longer-term product roadmap to your colleagues in sales & marketing, at both front-line and senior executive levels Creating & coordinating sales promotional & marketing activities to increase awareness and drive sales of Bell’s offers Staying on top of market activities & keeping your peers & colleagues informed of the implications of new developments & innovations Working with key vendors to understand how to position Bell’s strategy & their services to develop unique, valuable products & solutions for our customers The following list details some of the main responsibilities of a Product Manager. Product Offering Identify opportunities and anticipate competitive offers in the market by managing the roadmap for features and services Develop business cases in support of new products & services or proposed feature enhancements Sales support & deal management Create & maintain sales support documentation & prices on products, data centers & associated services for use by sales & end customers “Sell” our internal stakeholder teams on the value of new products & services, and provide those teams with the necessary tools for them to be successful in executing your vision Market Intelligence Monitor the industry & identify new opportunities for product introductions Monitor competitors & build a library of competitive information Other Key Activities Serve as main contact point for questions relating to the product in question, and work with Operations to address technical questions Support Product Managers & Sales in other geographies Required Knowledge & Qualifications A self-starter with demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm & energy Previous product management experience Superior written skills, capable of writing marketing documentation, product descriptions & other sales related materials Knowledge of hosting products & services with a basic technical background in the following areas Cloud Services – Virtualization, Software as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service, Platforms as a Service, and general cloud definitions IT Services – Servers, Storage, Fault Tolerance, High Availability, Firewalls, VPNs, Backups, Monitoring Networking – IP Addressing, NAT, BGP, Peering, Routing, Ethernet, MPLS Fundamental costing & financial analysis expertise Activity based costing Gross margin, EBITDA & Contribution Margins Understanding of Discounted Cash Flows & Present Value calculations a plus Experience with project management, process management & redesign Experience with the Bell NPI process is a plus Desired Knowledge & Qualifications Previous financial analysis & business/reporting analyst experience Extensive Microsoft Excel experience Financial modeling , Advanced Excel tool design Bilingualism Additional Information: Position Type: Full time permanent – CP3 Company name: Bell Canada Resource person's name: Sharon Inkster Date Candidate Required: ASAP Application Deadline: 2010-12-31 Job Location: GTA or Montreal Employee Referral Bonus: $1500.
