Salary:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week.  Overtime as required.

Responsibilities:

·         Control room director for live broadcasts

·         Co-ordinate multiple live to air remote feeds

·         Control room director for pre-taped elements

·         Final proofing of segment graphics

·         Supervise and direct studio pre-production

·         Participate in the development and implementation of new formats and visual presentation as requested

Qualifications:

·         3 years directing News or Live to Air productions in a major television market

·         Degree/Diploma in Television Production or Broadcast Journalism an asset

·         Proven ability to direct in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

·         Proven ability to make fast, competent production decisions under pressure

·         Proven ability to lead a studio crew in live productions with sudden content changes

·         Excellent spelling, grammar and proof-reading skills

·         Excellent knowledge of production requirements and technical aspects of live television broadcasting

·         Knowledge and interest in local, national and international news

·         Excellent computer skills; knowledge of newsroom system an asset
