Position: Sports Videographer/Anchor – Part time (7 months)

Location: ‘A’ Barrie
Salary: Group 4 - Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Shift work and overtime as required.
Responsibilities:
· Working as a weekend Sports Anchor, this person will be responsible for the organization, writing, edit supervision and studio anchoring of all weekend sportscasts on ‘A’ News.
· Working as a Sports Videographer, this person will be responsible for originating, shooting, writing, reporting, interviewing, editing, providing creative input and generally producing television sports stories.
· Fill-in weekday anchoring as required and assigned.
·Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
·Must possess a strong on-air presence, ability to interact well with others on camera.
·Must possess strong writing, research and presentation skills.
·Ability to perform in a “live” environment
·Proven knowledge of local, national and international sports and sports events.
·Strong people skills and a good understanding of journalistic ethics are mandatory.
·Proven skills in and knowledge of technical requirements of television production.
·Proficiency in shooting, reporting and editing.
·Ability to deal with new and developing technology.
·Minimum of 4 years broadcasting experience in a News/Sports environment.
·College level television diploma or equivalent education.
·University level education is a definite asset.
·Self-initiative and ability to work independently under pressure of deadlines.
