Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Shift work, weekend work and overtime as required. Responsibilities: · Responsible for the day to day management of work performed by the CTV Barrie Engineering and I.T. department staff. · Responsible for the planning and organization of maintenance and the support for all CTV Barrie Technical and Building Operations, as well as its local and remote transmitter sites and engineering fleet including: assisting with budgeting, tracking expenditures, training, equipping, guiding, deploying and evaluating the Engineering and Technical support staff. · Development and implementation of preventative maintenance routines to enhance equipment reliability, performance and longevity which are both comprehensive and cost-effective · Liasing with equipment suppliers and their manufacturers to provide best value and performance of supplied products · Assist with the coordination, planning and purchasing of CTV Barrie’s capital requirements · Provide technical solutions to all departments and internal clients · Provide project planning and execution functions, trouble shooting and support, as well as maintenance and repair of all CTV Barrie facilities and transmission tower sites · Responsible for documenting quality standards, system anomalies, operational procedures, reference material and project work. Qualifications: · Post secondary education, specializing in Electrical or Broadcast Technology. · Strong knowledge of RF transmission systems and I.T. · At least 5 years of applied experience in the Broadcasting Industry. Experience MUST include: knowledge of fibre and satellite distribution, HVAC & electrical systems, and maintenance of broadcast technical equipment and transmitters. · MUST have project management and supervisory experience & skills · MUST be a self starter and a team player · Strong written and verbal communication skills · MUST be well organized and capable of handling multiple assignments · An overall understanding of the live program production process is necessary and a strong sense of urgency in solving technical requests to ensure timely resolution is critical · Strong trouble shooting skills · Commitment to excellence and ongoing education in broadcast engineering.
