Resumes are being accepted for the position of Business Analyst within the Information Services Department.  The successful applicant will maintain and integrate sustainable IT solutions for the organization across various corporate systems.  The applicant is an integral part of a team that manages projects, re-engineers business processes in order to gain efficiencies and utilizes technology to maintain a healthy system infrastructure.  This role contributes to the administration of corporate systems, develops custom reports and interfaces, and leads system upgrade initiatives.   Guided by the goals and objectives of the City of Guelph Strategic Plan and committed to the Corporate Values of integrity, excellence and wellness, the candidate will aid in the achievement of the Community Vision – to be the city that makes a difference.

DUTIES:
•Perform end to end Systems Development Life Cycle activities
•Identifies and translates high level, conceptual business needs into specifications of business requirements to guide application use activities. 
•Produce or modify and maintain reports
•Provide input into IT policies and overall application architecture and design
•Participate in various projects, either in the role of project manager or resource
•Work with Corporate Application Analysts to document, re-engineer and implement streamlined business processes and optimize corporate workflow
•Work in conjunction with other technical staff to isolate, troubleshoot, resolve problems and administer corporate applications
•Maintain intimate and evolutionary technical familiarity with the infrastructure, data, tools and corporate applications
•Work within existing software change management procedures to implement software updates, packaging, and deployment
•Provide training and coaching to staff
•Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Considerable experience related to the duties listed above, normally acquired through the completion of a University Degree with a major in Computer Science or a related discipline and considerable experience in project management, business analysis and business process re-engineering in a medium to large sized corporate environment, preferably in a municipal setting.  Candidates with equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
•Experience in ERP systems, preferably with the Finance, Human Resources and Work Order / Asset Management applications.
•Experience with Crystal Reports and/or similar reporting software
•Experience with Oracle PL/SQL, Trigger and related Oracle RDMS tools.
•Experience with Project Management systems such as Eclipse, Microsoft Project and/or Basecamp
•Understanding of multi-tier application architecture, Oracle RDBMS, networking and system administration concepts.
•Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, stakeholders and the general public.
•Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
•Able to handle multiple and changing priorities and coordinate available resources accordingly.
•Advanced competency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
 
Rate: $65,539.27 - $81,921.59
