Resumes are being accepted for the position of Corporate Database Administrator within the Information Technology Department. The Corporate Database Administrator is responsible for the definition of the high level optimized corporate application and data architectures. You will be working with corporate application staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. The applicant is an integral part of a team that manages projects, re-engineers business processes in order to gain efficiencies and utilizes technology to maintain a healthy system infrastructure. •Defines and documents the high level corporate application architecture, and supporting high-level business process model.
•Develops application and data architecture, frameworks and models.
•Designs, installs, monitors, maintains and performance tunes production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability.
•Responsible for leading the consolidation / rationalization and simplification of the application portfolio
•Conducts research and makes recommendations upon products, services, processes and standards
•Involved in the design of application and data based solutions.
•Provides continuity in all major application solution decisions.
•Develops an overall data management roadmap.
•Develops and promotes data management methodologies and standards.
•Leads the definition of common corporate data standards.
•Establishes methods and procedures for tracking and reporting upon data quality, completeness, redundancy, and improvement.
•Conducts data capacity planning, life cycle, duration, usage requirements, feasibility studies, and other tasks.
•Reviews all plans for application development, advises on best practices and makes recommendations upon approach.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
•Considerable experience related to the duties listed above, normally acquired through the completion of a University Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and considerable experience in database architecture and systems support in a medium to large sized corporate environment, preferably in a municipal setting. Candidates with equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
•Oracle education coursework or certification in Database Administration.
•Experience in performing Database Administration on ERP systems, preferably with the Finance, Human Resources and Work Order / Asset Management applications.
•Experience with Crystal Reports and/or similar reporting software.
•Project management experience and experience with project management systems such as Eclipse, Microsoft Project and/or Basecamp.
•Understanding of multi-tier application architecture, Oracle RDBMS, networking and system administration concepts.
•Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, stakeholders and the general public.
•Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
•Able to handle multiple and changing priorities and coordinate available resources accordingly.
•Advanced competency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
SALARY: $72,079.16 - $90,098.95
