Reporting to the Executive Chef, Food Services, this position performs a variety of duties related to the operation of the Great-West Life Cafeteria.

Accountabilities:

● Assist with the preparation and cooking of all food items for the cafeteria and catering. This could include food items for the bake shop, hot entrée station, the salad bar, pre-made salad area, grill area, sandwich bar and catered events
● Set up and display of all food items for service
● Cooking and serving on the Stoneworks Counter during the lunch service
● Acting as a back-up to the Sous Chef and the Baker in the event of vacation or illness under the supervision of the Executive Chef
● Daily cleaning and sanitation of work area and equipment.

Required Competencies:

• Demonstrated knowledge of basic cooking techniques and procedures
• Diploma in Culinary Arts is preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Exceptional sanitation and safety skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Demonstrated record of acceptable performance and attendance
