Position Overview:

This position is suited to an individual who works well both independently and as part of a team, in an environment that is constantly changing. The Drug Services Processor is responsible for the assessment of multiple types of drug requests. This includes reviewing the different in house computer systems to determine eligibility.

Accountabilities:

• Reviewing Exception Drug Status as part of the Pharmacare Program and setting up exceptions on the in house computer system
• Determining allowance of days supplies and setting up the exceptions
• Determining if coverage is available for anti-obesity drugs and setting up the exceptions
• Corresponding both by phone and email to the Group Offices, Resource Centers, Benefit Payment Offices and Group Customer Contact Services
• Reviewing Prior Authorization Drugs for eligibility
• Running reports using Excel and Access
• Sending Pharmacare letters to clients

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Completion of post secondary education (minimum one year community college); a combination of education and work experience may be considered
• Knowledge of medical insurance or pharmacy supply considered an asset
• Solid computer skills with detailed experience working in Excel, Word & Access
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills; handle multiple tasks and priorities
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
