Position Overview:   
        
Reporting to the Director, Finance GTA, the successful candidate will fill the full-time position of Senior Revenue Accountant.  This is a leadership position involving; supervision of staff, training of new staff and co-ordination of various projects.  This position will work primarily out of our Mississauga location at One City Centre Drive with occasional travel to our Downtown Toronto office at 33 Yonge Street.

Responsibilities:

• Train new Revenue Accountants and where applicable Property Administrators
• Be available to answer questions via telephone and email from Revenue Accountants and Property Administrators
• Troubleshoot various issues as they arise pertaining to the Revenue Accounting position
• Attend monthly meetings with the Finance Director to assist in the standardization of Revenue Accountant duties throughout the GTA
• Work with the Director, Finance to set up and maintain Revenue Accounting Policies and Procedures, and ensure they are being followed
• Co-ordinate between Revenue Accountants in the group during peak periods
• Co-ordinate backup for the Revenue Accounting positions due to sickness, vacation, etc
• Co-ordinate Due Diligence Lease review and assist with review of leases, as required
• Make recommendations regarding rebalancing of Revenue Accountants’ portfolios when required
• Liaise between Leasing and Property Management Departments in order to resolve issues with tenants moving in and out, and various other matters from time to time
• Co-ordinate the reconciliation of unit areas in Realm Budget
• Assist in the automated year end billing process in CTI
• Liaise between Real Estate Accountants and Revenue Accountants to resolve matters
• Review and verify lease abstracts to ensure completeness and accuracy within CTI
• Review and verify daily deposits provided by the Revenue Accountants
• Co-ordinate monthly processing of EFT between the Controllers for monthly posting  and PA’s for entering and posting amounts in CTI
• Assist and coordinate the monthly preparation of Detailed Accounts Receivable Reports  
• Ensure monthly reports are complete and accurate before submission to the Property Management Group
• Co-ordinate and assist in the Lease Documentation process
• On a quarterly basis, visit Property Management offices in order to conduct an audit of post-dated cheques on hand
• Coordinate and maintain lease information in CTI
• Electronic preparation of rental schedules to new tenants
• Review daily deposits made by the Property Administrators and ensure proper posting of cash application to the tenant accounts, including the timely deposit of post-dated cheques
• Coordinate and prepare monthly automated statements of account for the Property Administrators
• Process and post rent rolls and miscellaneous invoices, and prepare cheque requisitions
• Maintain details of percentage rent, if applicable, and invoice tenants accordingly
• Recording of monthly bad debt provision
• Ensure all write offs are properly supported and recorded in CTI
• Review, prepare and analyze monthly revenue variance reports
• Prepare a monthly Straight Line Rent report
• Prepare year end final invoices to tenants
• Process and electronically prepare annual rent estimates for the tenant rental schedules
• Other duties as assigned from time to time

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in accounting; enrolled in a designation will be considered an asset
• Minimum five years experience in all aspects of Revenue Accounting function; minimum 2 years at a supervisory level
• Strong computer skills, knowledge of CTI an asset
• Ability to multi-task with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Ability to be a team player
