Position Overview:

The Senior Performance Analyst collaborates with Executives, Managers and staff of Lifeco Canada to significantly and measurably improve performance. These improvements, such as heightening quality, increasing productivity, reducing cycle time or lowering cost, contribute directly to achieving the Canadian segments financial targets and strategic objectives (e.g. profitable organic growth). The incumbent views organizations as systems, recognizing that organization effectiveness is the result of  performance at three levels (Organization, Process and Job) with needs that must be met at each level (Goals, Design and Management).

The Senior Performance Analyst’s  job is done well when high-impact opportunities to improve performance have been successfully implemented and sustained.

Accountabilities:

Associated with the CFO Canada, the incumbent enables internal clients of Lifeco Canada to significantly and measurably improve their strategic, operational and financial performance. They:

·         Build and manage client relationships - training, coaching and persuading people to change the way they work.
·         Analyze and redesign work processes and management systems (e.g. accounts payable) using interviews, observations, workshops and various analytical techniques.
·         Support managers and staff to implement changes and ensure they generate measurable results.
·         Plan, organize, motivate and direct performance improvement teams.

Qualifications and Competencies:

·         Education/skills acquired through completion of a post-secondary degree or equivalent (e.g. non-specialized bachelor degree or business-related community college diploma) with a minimum of 7 years related working experience.
·         Proficient with tools and techniques for changing performance variables such as Process Design.
·         Strategic thinker capable of seeing the ‘Big Picture’ (e.g. the financial impacts of change), developing innovative ideas and applying a high degree of judgment.
·         Excellent leader with experience developing and mentoring staff; building consensus and influencing multiple stakeholders. Talent to facilitate and engage the participation of others.
·         Solid relationship building skills used to effectively negotiate with others; influence them and/or persuade them to adopt something new or different.  
·         Work collaboratively, creating a team in a way that builds interest, excitement and enthusiasm with those involved.
·         Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, identifying issues/opportunities and conceiving solutions.
·         Effective verbal and written communications skills.
·         Established work experience managing multiple responsibilities and competing or changing priorities.
·         Financial analysis education/skills acquired beyond the bachelor level or equivalent (e.g. MBA) and accounting professionals (e.g. C.A, CMA or CGA) preferred.
·         Business or Systems Analysis education or experience would be an asset.
