Bilingual Administrative Assistant – Life Claims
Our Group Life Benefits department assesses group lifeinsurance claims for the Canadian block of group insurance business.
As the bilingual administrative assistant in our Group Life Benefits department, you will provide administrative support to the Life Claim Processors and Analysts, such as creating new life claim files, adding information to the claims tracking system, typing cheque letters, preparing income tax forms and preparing routine correspondence. You will be required to meet strict deadlines in order to deliver new claims to the Analysts and Processors in a timely manner.
·Open, date stamp, sort and distribute mail.
·File, Merge & Purge Vouchers
·Set up new claim files and report claim liability to the general ledger
·Enter claim data on the claims tracking system
·Type cheque letters and prepare income tax forms. Mail cheques, letters and tax forms.
·Issue cheques for advance payments, medical fees, police reports, etc.
·Prepare and mail routine requests for information.
·Maintain and distribute reports.
·Act as telephone attendant.
·Communicate with various departments within GWL
·Strong keyboarding skills with a minimum keyboarding speed of 25-30 wpm.
·Goodwritten and oral communication skills in English andFrench.
·Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and to work to strict deadlines.
·Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
·Proficiency working with database applications suchas Access is an asset
