Reporting to the Sous Chef, this position performs a variety of duties related to the operation of the Great-West Life Cafeteria.


• Daily review of menu with the Sous Chef
• Prepare Mise-en Place for the lunch service
• Set up and display hot food counter for lunch including all food items, utensils, signage etc. as required
• Take orders and prepare menu item to order at the speciality dish counter for customers as ordered
• Keep in communication with Sous Chef during lunch service to ensure supplies are stocked and help is provided when required
• Daily cleaning and sanitation of work area and equipment
Qualifications and Competencies:
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic cooking techniques and procedures
• Certificate in level 1 culinary program is preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Exceptional sanitation and safety skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated record of acceptable performance and attendance

Note: This position will require occasional over-time.
