Position Overview:

Edmonton Sales and Marketing Centre require an Administrative Assistant, within our Investments division, who will provide a variety of administrative duties and support to the Regional Manager, Investments and the Investment Consultant. The successful individual will also be responsible for delivering a high level of client service by handling multiple incoming inquiries, resolving a variety of problems and issues and coordinating the necessary communications required between Great-West Life Head Office, Freedom 55 Head Office, Advisors and the Clients.



  • New business processing of applications and other documentation with follow up on any missing/outstanding requirements.
  • Administrative support including researching investment and tax information, maintaining departmental records and filing system, and developing and producing letters, reports, and forms.
  • Assisting advisors and policy holders with administration, technology and process of new and existing business.
  • Creating various spreadsheets (i.e. net worth statements) and daily tracking of business reports.
  • Analyzing existing and perspective investment accounts and performing comparison analysis.
  • Assisting in the customized development of Investment Policy statements for a variety of high net worth clients.
  • Quoting Investment illustrations and keeping up-to-date on new developments and technology.
  • Organizing and coordinating meetings and seminars
  • Training advisors/advisor assistants on administrative processes
  • Providing vacation back-up support to other positions within the office.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Completion of a one year community college diploma; a combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
  • Well developed organizational and priority management skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks with a strong attention to detail
·         Proficiency with MS Office programs; particularly with Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a team.  
  • IFIC Operations course and/or Mutual Fund license would be an asset.
