This position will primarily be responsible for investigating and developing responses to Request for Proposals (RFP) for our Major Account segment including leading a team and managing the RFP process. In addition this role will also be responsible for developing and overseeing Major Account RFP analysis, databases and field resource tools.


• Manage process for developing RFP responses to support the field in responding to large prestigious, complex and desirable prospects and inforce marketing opportunities including technical and submission requirements and isolate strategic opportunities for further investigation and development of alternative solutions with senior leaders
• Develop/maintain major account market analysis including trends in RFP submission for common questions, procurement requirements and how we improve
• Develop/maintain major account RFP market database: know what other Carriers are doing, Great West-Life versus competition; procurement trends, and investigate what successful companies do in other industries
• Develop and maintain original proposal content to be used by all sales staff

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Post-secondary university degree in Business Administration, with 4-7 years of relevant insurance industry experience as this is fundamental to the role
• Effective leadership and project management skills; position oversees a cross functional team of subject-matter experts with each RFP
• Excellent writing skills balancing RFP requirements against what Great-West Life can deliver
• Strong analytical skills ensuring compliance; seek and identify solutions and responses tailored to the specifics of the RFP
• Effectively manage and prioritize a high level of work related, time sensitive interruptions
manage multiple demands and work to deadlines
• Strong decision-making skills
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
• Knowledge of procurement processes an asset
