Position Overview:

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Portfolio Reporting, GWL Realty Advisors Inc. (GWLRA) is looking for an individual for Winnipeg Head Office to be responsible for providing administration and accounting support to our third party client team.  The third party client team encompasses assets under management in excess of $6 billion with over 177 real estate properties across Canada.


Accounting and Financial Reporting:

§  Assist Real Estate Accountants in preparing financial information including processing journal entries including real estate write-up /down, bank charges, share issuance / redemption and other entries as needed.
§  Prepare cash distributions / cash contributions for bank accounts that are not part of the centralized cash control system.
§  Data entry for financial statement preparation and consolidations.
§  Assist in preparation of the appraisal engagement letters.
·         Ad hoc requests as required.

Budgeting and Full-Year Estimate (FYE):

·         Assist Real Estate Accountants in the budget/forecast process for all third party clients
·         Input budget and forecast data such as net operating income, revenue, market values, vacancy, and capital detail into key indicator and budget tracking reports
·         Input owner level data into the general ledger.
·         Prepare and format various schedules for client presentation.
·         Ad hoc requests as required.


·         Assist Real Estate Accountants with preparation and compilation of materials for the Annual Directors Meeting, and other meetings as required.
·         Maintain records for Business Continuity Plan and centralized filing system.
·         Co-ordinate monthly / quarterly publishing of all client reports and related backup.
·         Printing and coordinating printing reports and administrative tasks as needed.
·         Ad hoc requests as required

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Completion of Post secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle pressures of deadlines and fluctuating workloads
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, with the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision as well as working well as a team member
  • Detail oriented; capable of producing highly accurate results
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook and Excel applications
