Great-West Life provides health and dental insurance to over nine million Canadians. The Winnipeg Benefit Payment Office is responsible for processing and adjudicating five million claims on a yearly basis.

We are searching for a proven Leader to provide operational management to the Winnipeg Health and Dental Benefit Payment Office. The main accountability is leadership of the Benefit Payment office team building an environment contributing to the organization’s objectives of service excellence, efficiency and being an employer of choice.  

Accountabilities:
·         Ensure the implementation of best practices in the following areas of “people management:  selection, on boarding, performance management, initial training, on-going development, engagement, succession, employee retention;
·         Oversee the local application of recognition programs specific to the BPO work environment;  
·         Provide operational direction and leadership to the BPO staff through effective communication of objectives and results; optimal forecasting of workforce required; efficient planning and reporting;
·         Manage the department budget including appropriate expense management;
·         Facilitate change management and implementation  by leading projects that fall within the larger scope of the BPO business and strategic planning;
·         Ensure timely and satisfactory resolution of escalations;
·         Create and maintain effective business partnerships across departments within the organization;
·         Ensure that BPO practices are compliant to all provincial legislative requirements.

Qualifications and Competencies:
·         University degree (bachelor level) or the equivalent education or experience in a field related to management; business administration; etc.;
·         7 to 10 years of work experience as a supervisor or manager in a high productivity and large staff operational environment;
·         Demonstrated leadership capacity in an operational setting where meeting results in a timely manner is critical to success;
·         Ability to lead and manage in a purpose/vision focused environment
·         Proven skills in motivating a large and diverse workforce to attain set goals;
·         Capacity to communicate effectively to all levels of staff and business partners;
·         Experience in facilitating change effectively;
·         Group Insurance knowledge, benefit claims knowledge and experience or any professional designation related to this field such as CEBS are considered assets.
