Information Services Expense Coordinator
1 Year Term
Working as a member of the Information Services (I.S.) Financial Management team, the Expense Coordinator is responsible for providing financial administration services in support of the efficient and effective financial operations of the I.S. Division.
The I.S. Enterprise provides services to Great-West Life, London Life, Canada Life (Canadian & European operations), Great-West Life & Annuity as well as Investors Group and Mackenzie Financial.
  Accountabilities:
  • Prepare and process invoices in accordance with existing financial controls, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain financial accounting files, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Reconcile accounts.
  • Contribute to monitoring of actual costs by department compared to budget and vendor contracts, and assist in providing explanations for any significant variances each month.
  • Work directly with cost centre owners, vendors and other ISFM and corporate support staff to resolve issues relating to general ledger activities including: incomplete or missing documentation or approvals, allocation to general ledger accounts, status of invoices, investigate discrepancies, etc. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with above mentioned stakeholders to ensure requirements are dealt with accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and summaries as required.
  • Additional job related finance/accounting responsibilities as requested.
Desired Skills & Experience:
·         A post-secondary level or equivalent education
·         Minimum of 1 year of office work experience.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong mathematical and financial calculation skills.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of invoices and paperwork (including photocopying and filing).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven record of being a team player with the ability to multitask.
  • Experience in providing positive customer service.
  • Should possess strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a team-based atmosphere.
  • Should have a positive attitude, willingness to learn and should be adaptable to change.
  • Have excellent time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred.
