Life Claims Analysts are responsible for the independent assessment of Basic, Creditor and Optional Life insurance claims, Terminal Illness Advance Payment Requests, Survivor Income Benefit (SIB) claims and Accidental Death & Dismemberment claims, up to a claim value of $300,000.00, for an assigned block of business.
·Accurately assess group life insurance claims, for an assigned block of business. ·Complete assessments in a timely manner in order to meet the departmental service objectives.
· Manage individual caseload and assist other team members to ensure uniform service delivery to our clients.
·Daily telephone contact with external clients, such as Group Plan Administrators and claimants, sales representatives, estate lawyers, etc
Qualifications and Competencies:

·Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and French. (Many contacts are with Plan Administrators and grieving elderly claimants).
·Good organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage changing priorities and fluctuating workloads.
·Ability to work independently, within a team environment.
·Demonstrated analytical skill. Must be able to interpret provincial insurance laws and contract provisions.
