Union: ONA

Salary Range: $29.73/hour to $42.98/hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

The Nurse Case Manager (NCM) works with a team in an outpatient setting providing individual assessment and treatment to clients who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Trauma based disorders. This position reports to the Team Leader for issues related to the day to day operation of the Traumatic Stress Service such as case assignment, workload, vacation etc. and reports to the Manager of Adult Ambulatory Care in Mental Health for program issues. The incumbent will participate in various components of the service delivery including individual trauma assessments, group interventions, individual therapy, community education, etc. This position also involves active participation with the team in the continuing development of the service.

Qualifications

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • BScN Degree; consideration will be given to candidates enrolled in a current program
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
  • Training and experience in one or more trauma treatment modality such as EMDR, prolonged exposure, CBT, etc.
  • Canadian Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Certification CPMHN(c) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Mental Health and Trauma treatment
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the assessment, treatment and crisis management of clients with trauma related disorders
  • Knowledge of current neuroscience, attachment and mindfulness theories as they apply to Trauma disorders
  • Extensive training and experience providing individual and group psychotherapy
  • Knowledge of community resources and experience with community education
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal problem-solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated flexibility and commitment to working in an academic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
