The 5th Floor Inpatient Unit at University Hospital is comprised of a Coronary Care Unit, Arrhythmia Cardiology beds, and a Cardiac Day/Night Unit. This unit provides exemplary continuous care of cardiac patients requiring intensive physiological monitoring and technological and pharmacological support delivered in a cohesive, cooperative, and integrated manner. The physical and psychosocial needs of the patient and family are supported on an ongoing basis. The cardiac program supports and participates in ongoing research, quality improvement and multi disciplinary activities.
Qualifications:
· Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
· General Cardiology or Coronary Care nursing experience
· Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
· Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification preferred
· Demonstrated skills in interpreting ECG arrhythmias preferred
· Demonstrated communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
· Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple and changing demands
· Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to change in a dynamic environment
· Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a member of an interdisciplinary team
· Ability to establish effective relationships with patients, families and members of the healthcare team
· Demonstrated behaviours supporting our Core Values of Respect, Trust and Collaboration
· Demonstrated commitment to professional development and self directed learning
· Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
