The Cancer Research Program is an affiliation of research and clinical scientists whose focus is basic and translational research. The laboratory conducts both basic and translational research in breast and prostate cancer and is a leader in analysis of tumor microenvironments and their role in tumor progression. The laboratory uses rodent and cell culture models to identify imaging and therapeutic targets. The Research Assistant will work with and facilitate research programs of Postdoctoral Fellows and Research Technicians, in particular working with animal models and conducting routine laboratory work.
Qualifications
Successful completion of a Bachelor of Science in Biology / Bachelor degree in a health related field or equivalent Minimum 1-2 years of recent experience in laboratory-based research related to biomedical science, specifically involving experimental rodent models Experience in tissue culture (sterile technique) and some experience in molecular biology and protein purification is an asset Previous experience with mouse colony maintenance Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to prioritize workload, with particular attention to detail Demonstrated excellent organizational and communication (both verbal and written) skills Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
