Qualifications


·         Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited University

·         Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers is mandatory

·         Clinical experience within the past two years in a children’s health care setting

·         Preference will be given to applicants with recent emergency services experience and proficiency in crisis intervention and grief counselling

·         Ability to assess and respond to Child Welfare and Child Protection issues

·         Strong assessment and treatment skills dealing with crisis/emergencies and related psychosocial issues

·         Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the area of domestic violence and abuse

·         Demonstrated ability to function independently and interdependently with a diversity of health care team members

·         Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal relations, problem-solving, communication, crisis intervention, group dynamics, community development and other innovative approaches

·         Demonstrated leadership in discharge planning and community networking with extensive knowledge of community resources

·         Demonstrated skills in providing education to health care team and to multidisciplinary students

·         Ability to support and/or debrief the health care team

·         Demonstrated ability to measure and evaluate practice change outcomes

·         Supports research and innovation in practice

·         Ability to support and assist health care teams facing change and stress in environment

·         Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
