The Research Associate position will be responsible for performing in-vivo and in-vitro research of small animals with shock and resuscitation (ischemia and reperfusion). The successful candidate would have the opportunity to interact with other members of the existing CIHR group and will be responsible for setting up research group meetings for updates, research discussions and journal club.
Qualifications
Undergraduate Degree in Bachelor of Science, Masters Degree of Science or MD Recent laboratory experience in small animal surgery and hemodynamic studies Experience in database management including the ongoing management, data entry and analysis Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and SPSS or other statistical programs Previous experience in the set-up and implementation of research projects an asset Demonstrated ability to collaborate, develop and maintain effective relationships within research teams Experience in drafting initial research proposals and manuscripts for publication Experience in completing protocols for the animal research review committee Demonstrated excellent organizational skills including managing and ordering research supplies Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a high level of initiative Ability to work effectively with little to no supervision Demonstrated commitment to attend work on a regular basis.
