This position requires the incumbent to interpret detailed instructions and produce multiple copies of supplied material from hardcopy or electronic files.  The position works independently using new technologies and handles quality issues surrounding equipment configuration and output.  The position works as part of the Print Production Team who are responsible for the daily production of marketing materials, fund reports and materials used in a vary complex distribution to Brokers, Agents and Policy Holders across Canada.

 

Accountabilities:

 

·         Understand and interpret job tickets as provided by Printing Services, GRS, support Group booklets and Selectpac booklet productions and Distribution Coordinators, as well as material received directly from internal customers

·         Accountable for Quality Control checks on all work produced ensuring products produced meet customer expectations

·         Independently operate digital reproduction equipment meeting requested delivery timetables, maintaining productivity levels through efficient time management

·         Understand the technical requirements for the digital print equipment and the software used to modify and store images

·         Recognize and understand the requirements for producing and recovering costs between Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life

·         Pack and coordinate deliveries of completed jobs with delivery points across Canada

 

 

Qualifications and Competencies:

 

·         Ability to interpret detailed specification and be able to make recommendations on file format and software that is compatible with the digital equipment

·         Extensive experience in the programming, operation and maintenance of Xerox high speed digital copiers including, but  not limited to models 288, 6180, 6135 and associated in-line finishing equipment

·         Ability to train staff and customers on the theory of mechanics of black and white digital reprographics

·         Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and well-developed customer service skills

·         Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and to perform well in a high volume work environment, independently with limited supervision

·         A demonstrated working knowledge of PCs including Word, Excel, Outlook email, as well as knowledge of file creation and maintenance

·         Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

·         Demonstrate understanding of production methodology and processes related to various aspects of Print Production i.e. bindery-finishing processes

·         Experience in pre-press functions such as document creation or revision using software such as Quark, PageMaker and Adobe Illustrator would be a definite asset
