Reporting to the Associate Manager, you will be responsible for New Business quotations, Plan amendments and the Renewal rating for major group insurance plans in the context of achieving budgeted divisional profit and growth objectives.

You will be accountable for:

•Managing an in-force Caseload, including performing the annual renewal of rates and expenses, and the approval of amendments
•Review and completion of annual financial reports
•Handling inquires from field staff, clients, and consultants on plan changes, and reporting needs
•Ensuring accuracy of all of our reporting system as they pertain to your groups
•Analysis of New Business Quotations and setting the rates
•Being a resource for other underwriters and other Head Office staff

Required Competencies and Behaviors:

•Group Insurance product knowledge is an asset
•Underwriting knowledge would be a definite asset.
•Strong analytical and mathematical ability
•Training or experience in negotiations
•Strong problem solving and decision making skills
•Administrative capabilities
•Ability to manage multiple demands/strong organizational and time management skills
•Demonstrated strong communication skills
•Ability to adapt to change
•Preference to Post Secondary Education is preferred in Mathematics or Business Administration
•Preference to enrollment or completion in industry courses such as CEBS
