Supervisor, Standards Development
$76, 775 – $96, 435 per annum

(Temporary – up to one (1) year)

GO Project Management Programs & Systems, is seeking a Supervisor, Standards Development to oversee and coordinate the activities of design development and new initiatives as they apply to design requirements for multiple contracts within the Corporate Infrastructure Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees research, development, and maintenance of design standards in the Design Requirements Manual (DRM), standard drawings, and design guidelines.
  • Establishes methods for consistent quality control and quality assurance for changes to Standards.
  • Liaises with Standards technical staff and key stakeholders to implement new standards.
  • Establishes ongoing maintenance and capital rehabilitation programs.
  • Manages Standards documents and drawings in corporate systems.
  • Monitors and tracks revisions and changes to design standards
  • Provides coordination of Standards pilot projects and aassists with the preparation of annual and multi-year capital programs.
  • Researches and develops new design standards and guidelines.
        Location:  20 Bay Street, Toronto

        Qualifications:
         

        • University Degree in applied science or engineering/architecture or project management or any combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
        • Minimum eight (8) years of related experience.  Preferred experience in planning, design, and construction of transit infrastructure, and related works.
        • Courses leading to, or a completed designation in, Construction or Project Management would be considered an asset.
        • Previous training, trade certification, and or professional designation(s) in a discipline relevant to the division / department would be considered an asset.
        • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with demonstrated written/oral communication, team leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills.
        • Ability to liaise with and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
        • Knowledge of Contract Law, Construction Liens Act of Ontario, Design and Construction Contracts.
        • Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of project, design and construction management
        • Knowledge of management/supervisory principles and practices.
