PART-TIME STATION ATTENDANT Start Rate $22.22 per hour $22.22 to $27.62 per hour (ATU Bargaining Unit) (Training Rate $13.28 per hour) As a Part-Time Station Attendant in GO Transit’s Station Operations West Office, you will play a critical role by establishing the tone for the entire customer service experience as GO Transit’s first point of contact with most passengers. Key Responsibilities: In this position, your responsibilities will include: -
Selling tickets to GO Transit passengers using cash, credit, and debit methods of payment, and maintaining related records, tickets, and cash float. - Responding to questions and providing advice about routes, schedules, and other services and programs that GO Transit offers.
- Conducting safety checks of assigned location, including platforms, stairs, tunnels, elevators, etc, and reporting and correcting deficiencies to ensure the safety, security, comfort, and convenience of employees and customers.
- Maintaining records of service delays, and reporting various incidents and equipment failures.
Location Long Branch GO Station This position will involve working two (2) weekend rotating shifts as follows: | SHIFT | SHIFT HOURS #1 | SHIFT HOURS #2 | | Saturday | 0630 – 1430 | 1415 - 2215 | | Sunday | 0630 – 1430 | 1415 - 2215 | Qualifications: - High school education or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain First Aid Certification, and successfully complete, safety, environmental, and any other training required by corporate policy.
- Six (6) months' experience in cash handling and dealing directly with the public.
- Good oral and written communications skills and the ability to deal courteously with the public.
- Ability to read and understand fare tables, manuals, and schedules.
- Ability to learn and operate computers and other electronic equipment.
