SUPERVISOR BUS FLEET MAINTENANCE

$67,912 - $85,305 per annum


GO Transit’s Bus Fleet & Facilities West Office is seeking a Supervisor, Bus Fleet Maintenance to ensure the effective / efficient management and coordination of vehicle inspection, repair, cleaning and maintenance operations of the GO Transit bus fleet. 

Key Responsibilities:

·        Supervising all assigned bargaining unit personnel.
·        Ensuring that all work adheres to Ministry of Transportation legislated requirements.
·        Coordinating the repair and return of bus equipment with outside contractors; investigating employee complaints and handling grievances. 

In general, the Bus Fleet & Facilities operation runs 24 hours per day and operates out of cities within the GTAA.    

Location:        Streetsville Garage, 6190 Mississauga Road, Streetsville.

Qualifications:         

·      Must have Truck and Coach Technician – 310T and the Automotive Service Technician – 310S designations, normally attained through completion of a community college program in automotive repair. 
·       Minimum of four (4) years’ working experience as a Truck and Coach Technician – 310T designation, including direct exposure to, or demonstrated working knowledge of: 

·      Detailed knowledge of highway bus maintenance and repairs performed to manufacturers’ specifications. 
·        Proficiency in the reading of schematics and knowledge of state of the art transit and mechanical technology. 
·      Sound knowledge of garage management practices, preventative maintenance theory and pertinent MTO, MOE, MOL legislated requirements. 
·      Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships. 
·       Ability to supervise and organize the work output of several work units. 
·       Computer experience in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and data entry would be an asset. 
·        Must have a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence and meet the corporate standard for a good driving record.  Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class “C” driver’s licence with “Z” endorsement. 
·       Must successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training required by corporate policy.
