PRINCIPAL, CENTRE FOR VALUE IMPROVEMENT
STRATEGY AND IMPROVEMENT

Reporting to Director of Strategy & Improvement, this position is responsible for the functioning of a NorQuest Centre and the achievement of objectives in relation to:  internal improvement, applied research, business development and college programming.  In consultation with the Director, the Principal establishes and implements the Centre’s plan which is aligned to the Strategy & Improvement divisional plan and the College Comprehensive Institutional Plan. The incumbent requires a range of skills including expertise in process improvement, business savvy, marketing and sales and analytical proficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Internal improvement to NQC
  • Direct Centre activities related to process improvement in NorQuest by coordinating the development of appropriate process improvement education components 
  • Liaise with internal NQ stakeholders on issues related to the implementation of process improvements, development of curricula, educational resources, programs, workshops and similar activities
  • Provide leadership in the training, orientation and on-going performance of process improvement work
  • Provide support and leadership to ensure staff has access to relevant process improvement skills development opportunities to support the success of their work 
Business Development
  • Develop and implement a business plan that supports the business development model 
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan for the Centre and, and if relevant, an industry advisory committee 
  • Advise, consult to and support Business Development in the creation of contract negotiation and development
  • Coordinate the development of appropriate continuing education programs (certificates) of the Centre’s education programs for external candidates 
  • Recruit, schedule and monitor facilitators hired on a contractual basis 
Research
  • Direct the Centre’s applied research, related project development and activities
  • Identify, direct and develop new partnerships, collaborations, and related business and research (including the securing of funding to complete the research)
  • Broadcast and educate internal and external audiences regarding the activities and approaches of the Centre
College Programming
  • Support and Coordinate the integration of process improvement competence into existing curricula and College-Wide Learning Outcomes for NorQuest programs
  • Coordinate the development of appropriate education components for NorQuest programs in all Faculties
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s Degree relevant to the Centre  
  • Interdisciplinary educational background including anthropology, psychology, sociology, & education 
  • Demonstrated leadership in adult education 
  • Demonstrated leadership in higher educational faculty and staff development
  • Publishing experience
  • Demonstrated success in the Principal’s 4 areas of responsibility (internal improvement, business development, applied research and programming)
  • Strong demonstrated leadership skills 
SALARY:  $101,731 - $127,190 per annum
