Shop Foreman - Drayton Valley
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Shop Foreman is responsible for the following:
·Quality control of all Precision Rental surface and well site equipment (may include project work or inter- branch transfers);
·Dispatching shop staff and arranging their on-call rotation;
·Scheduling equipment coming through the shop and delegating assigned work in the shop (under supervision of the Area Manager);
·Working closely with Area Manager and Inside Sales on scheduling project work in a respectable and timely manner;
·Responsible for weekly parts inventories and ordering of stock (upon approval of Area Manager);
·Responsible for shop and yard safety, providing work orders and orientations of third party companies or new employees working in the yard (including housekeeping);
·Monthly shop inspections and monthly equipment inventories;
·Participating in Inside Sales on-call rotation;
·Initiating safety reporting and investigations;
·Repair and maintenance servicing on surface equipment and well site units; and
·Other duties as required.
The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:
·High School Diploma;
·Completion of college and/or vocational and technical training considered an asset;
·Knowledge of drilling service rentals and well site trailers;
·Strong mechanical aptitude and several years experience in a similar role;
·Valid Class 5 Drivers License and current Drivers Abstract;
·Current WHMIS, TDG, H2S and FIRST AID Certificates or ability to obtain;
·Excellent safety record and demonstrated commitment to a safe work environment;
·Ability to handle physically demanding work;
·Strong work ethic, self-motivated and able to work independently;
·Positive attitude and ability to work well with others;
·Well-developed written and verbal communication skills;
·Resourceful and able to demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, task planning and organizational skills;
·Strong attention to detail; and
·Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
