The Opportunity

Drilling Equipment Engineer - Calgary
Based at our Rostel facility in southeast Calgary, the Drilling Equipment Engineer is a key role within our manufacturing engineering team. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, responsibilities include:
·         Designing and detailing of mechanical components and machines;
·         Design validation and detailing of existing components and machines;
·         Providing technical support for shop operations (manufacturing issues, equipment (re)certifications, etc.);
·         Potential for field re-certifications of drilling rig equipment;
·         Identifying and adhering to applicable codes, regulations and standards (API, CSA, CAODC, OHS, etc.);
·         Developing process routers, operational procedures; and,
·         Managing design revisions, drawing revision control and drawing distribution.

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:

·         Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
·         P.Eng accredited member in good standing with APEGA;
·         Experience with oil drilling rig equipment is required;
·         Experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred;
·         Proficiency with 2D and/or 3D Drafting & Design software – AutoCAD, Solid Edge, Inventor;
·         Proficiency with analysis software ANSYS, SAFI, etc. is an asset;
·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite;
·         Excellent time management skills;
·         Great communication skills, both written and verbal;
·         Organized with a strong attention to detail; and,
·         Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently.
