Under the direction of the Associate Registrar, Projects & Development, the Business Support Analyst supports the efficient business operations of the Office of the Registrar.  The incumbent provides technical and business operational support and needs evaluation required on behalf of the Office of the Registrar so that the Student Administration system meets the business needs and is operationally excellent.  The incumbent works closely with all areas within the Office of the Registrar and other areas of the college in order to determine feasibility, significance and scope, and provides recommendations to develop and implement innovative business solutions and process improvements. The incumbent provides support and leadership in the implementation, maintenance and ongoing development of the Student Information System.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Maintaining the Student Information System (SIS) configuration supporting the ongoing business operations including such aspects as Level Load, Requisites, Academic Advisement;
• Ensuring all relevant details are in place to facilitate the postsecondary, continuing education, skills development and apprenticeship registration cycles;
• Maintaining a complex, computerized records/registration system;
• Entering, updating and validating all rules and related data elements required by the Student Information System (SIS) to support the Office of the Registrar business operations;
• Executing the necessary functions related to the student registration process such as creating student records for the next term and/or loading courses (block codes) to student records;
• Identifying needs, problems and enhancements for the Student Information System; reviewing and testing effectiveness of new technologies and recommending changes; implementing planned modifications or new functionality to modules;
• Providing moderate systems support ensuring that all rules and table forms, validation tables and executive processes are created, maintained and run;
• Providing support for web enabled grade input process and Faculty issues of grades, absent students, class lists, etc.
•  Providing assistance to support staff with regards to registration issues;
• Developing and implementing clearly defined procedures for students, staff and faculty to follow in order to meet stringent deadline dates and ensuring all updated and new procedures/policies are accurately communicated, understood and implemented;
• Analyzing requirements and specifications from end user requests to develop queries using the PeopleSoft Query Manager utility to produce the desired output results;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a 3 year diploma/degree in Information Systems, Office Information Management, Business Administration or a related field along with a minimum of two years experience in information systems and/or office administration, preferably in a Registrar’s office.  (Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience) Experience in system configuration and maintenance procedures is required. The incumbent must have a sound knowledge of records policies and procedures and must be familiar with all online systems related to maintenance of student records. It is essential for the incumbent to be knowledgeable in a variety of computer systems or languages in order to direct maintenance of the tables and manuals which support all student record keeping functions. The ability to understand technical and user requirements is necessary, as well as the initiative to recommend process improvements. The incumbent should have superior attention to detail, analytical and assessment skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills in order to support and assist the various users of the SIS.
