Reporting to the Manager, Building Maintenance and Services, the incumbent is responsible for shipping, receiving and distributing Sheridan materials, mail and maintaining records related to these activities as well as setting up for events.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Distributing Sheridan materials and mail to internal departments and Faculties;
• Receiving and sorting incoming Sheridan materials and mail;
• Assembling and packaging materials for timely distribution;
• Ensuring campus copy machines are regularly supplied with paper;
• Ensuring efficient shipping service is provided to all areas of Sheridan;
• Collecting goods for external distribution using shipping software programs to log and track shipments;
• Maintaining all relevant documentation to include verifying Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) documents with dangerous goods manifest;
• Providing one-on-one training to part-time employee(s) on daily operational duties;
• Ensuring shipping/receiving area is secure at all times;
• Maintaining inventory of tables, chairs and supplies used for events;
• Maintaining log of events and requests for event set ups; setting up and dismantling tables, chairs and other requesting items for events;
• Handling complaints from customers;
• Performing general labour (e.g. moving boxes and equipment within building; cleaning mechanical rooms; lubricating mechanical devices; unplugging sewer lines, painting, etc.);
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma along with a minimum of one year of practical experience in shipping and receiving (or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience).  The successful candidate must also have working knowledge of shipping software programs to log and track shipments. The TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certification will be considered an asset.  Incumbent must be mechanically inclined.
