Configuration Management Specialist
contract opportunity

In this position, you will be responsible for the management of all softwarecode baselines used to support multiple internal and external development initiatives.The Configuration Management Specialist configures and manages their own build environments to ensure that all artifacts are accounted for throughout product development, testing, and release cycles to meet the requirements of the business unit goals.The Configuration Management Specialist is also responsible for enforcing the established controls that facilitate auditing and compliance throughout the software lifecycle.
Key accountabilities include:
  • Perform scheduled software product builds and provide Infrastructure teams with packages produced by the build process for deployment
  • Manage code branches and merging to support product release cycles
  • Define new baselines based on information provided by developers which include software and hardware configuration changes
  • Manage source code repositories including access permissions
  • Report on the status of configuration items
  • Provide audit information as required
  • Maintain effective communication with Product Managers, Project Managers, Development teams, Quality Assurance teams, Operations, and Infrastructure staff

Technical expertise includes:
  • Successful completion of a recognized diploma or certificate in Computer Science Technology
  • 2 years experience buildingsoftware deployment packages for testing and production environments
  • 2 years experience with Microsoft Application Lifecycle Management Development tools
  • Experience using source code control tools in Windows environments (preferably Microsoft Team Foundation Server)

To succeed, you must also demonstrate the following:
  • Solid understanding of Configuration Management practices and techniques
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving abilities
  • Detail oriented, self motivated and able to work independently
  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes
