Bella Coola General Hospital, part of the Bella Coola Valley Health Services is affiliated with Vancouver Coastal Health Authority through the United Church Health Services Society. The 15 bed Acute/Residential facility includes Med/Surg, Residential and Emergency Room services. Community Services including Home & Community Care, Public Health, Mental Health, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Nurse Practitioner and the Doctors Clinic are provided on site. We serve a population of approximately 1800 including a First Nations community. We provide some Integrated Health Services with the Nuxalk Nation. Bella Coola General Hospital does not offer Birthing Services.
We are looking for a Casual Medical Laboratory Technologist to be part of a team of healthcare professionals. You will work in collaboration with the existing Medical Laboratory Technologists to perform the duties of all sections of the laboratory including administrative. Your team includes a Medical Laboratory Assistant.

Status: Casual / On Call - Vacation Relief
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Salary: $26.25 to 32.73 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:
Daily routine duties at bench, including hematology and coagulation, chemistry, microbiology and blood banking. Daily maintenance of instrumentation. Prioritizes patient samples as necessary. Running of patient samples and reporting. Perform inpatient and outpatient phlebotomies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a registered Medical Laboratory Technologist with current C.S.M.L.S. plus five years recent or related experience.
