Java Developer
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This role is a developer role for the RAMPP Global Trade Management IT team. You will work on various different projects enhancing existing functionality within the application and developing new functionality to improve the platform. You will have the opportunity to work closely with various FO/BO businesses and technology teams.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Participate in the design, implementation, test, delivery and maintenance for Global Trade Management Platform- Participate in project planning sessions with FO, BO, Ops, other teams, to analyze business requirements, any prevailing issues and carve out the progress path ahead
- System design through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews and making decisions depending on resources/data/infrastructure availability/accessibility
- Develop engineering services by ensuring the services and the components are well defined/modularised, reliable, actively monitored and reusable
- Ensure quality and completeness of the product through code review, unit testing and documentation
- Provide technical expertise to maximize efficiency, reliability, value from current infrastructure and emerging technologies, showing technical leadership and driving continuous improvement efforts
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- 2+ years’ hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java 8 (or later) using spring framework
- Good knowledge of relational databases and any messaging technology ( e.g. Solace/IBM MQ)
- Knack for writing clean, readable java code with unit tests
- Ability to multi-task effectively and provide timely updates
Nice-to-have
- Understanding of the front office sales/trading flows, knowledge of the following financial systems: ICAP, Brokertec, MarketAxess, ESpeed, Tradeweb, Candeal, BGCC, CME, ION, TRAX, Omgeo CTM, Omgeo Oasys, Bloomberg and Murex.
- Knowledge of securities reference data across multiple asset classes such as FI Bonds, Mortgages, Equities, FX and Commodities.
- Experience developing server side services leveraging the following APIs: Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful Webservices, Google Protobuf, Apache Avro, Hibernate 3.0 and Struts 2.0
- Experience designing and implementing relational databases. Detailed understanding of SQL and data modeling, hands-on experience with MS SQL and Sybase.
