Human Resources Specialist
ABOUT US:
We are a climate controlled Japanese Automotive Parts Manufacturer in the St. Thomas, ON region and are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and qualified Human Resources Specialist assist with the execution of the company’s Human Resource functions. The primary role of the Human Resources Specialist is to provide functional and administrative support to the HR Department in a highly professional manner. We are seeking a candidate that will assist with all HR facets including recruitment and selection, retention and turnover, termination, performance management and corrective action, training and development, legal compliance, compensation, benefits management, long-term staffing strategies and succession planning, and maintenance of all personnel records and HR related data. Responsibilities also include ensuring ongoing compliance and adherence to HR related policies and procedures, administration of personnel rules and regulations, pay related matters, Team Member training, safety, health, and morale.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Reports to the Sr. Human Resources Manager on a daily basis pertaining to HR related matters and functions
2. Assists with compiling weekly and monthly reports relating to areas of attendance, manpower, turnover, vacation, etc.
3. Assists in the development and implementation of HR related policies and procedures
4. Ensures adherence to ESA and affirmative action programs.
5. Assists with administration of recruitment functions including resume screening, interviewing, reference checking
6. Assists with new Team Member orientation and training development
7. Assists with Team Member relations related activities
8. Assists with administration of company’s benefits program
9. Ensures Team Member safety, welfare, wellness, and health
10. Responsible for assisting with Team Member attendance tracking, vacation tracking, record keeping
11. Assists with the development / maintenance of performance management and improvement tracking systems
12. Assists with the application of company policies / procedures
13. Assists in the company’s internal investigation process when handling concerns and/or complaints.
14. Assists with the Corrective Action process and participates in the coaching / disciplinary processes as required
15. Ensures effective organization of files / personnel records
16. Performs other related duties as required / needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Post-secondary education in business administration (college or university) required
2. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working in an HR related role required
3. Experience working in an HR related role within a manufacturing environment preferred
4. Understanding of all applicable legislation related to HR and its functions (WSIB, Human Rights, OHSA, ESA, etc.)
5. Experience with recruitment related activities involving resume screening, interviewing, reference checking, orientation, and training development
6. Experience in administration of benefits and other HR related programs including enrollments, benefit orientations, changes, terminations, reconciliations, and assisting with benefits claim issues and/or concerns
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
8. Strong conflict resolution skills
9. Demonstrate flexibility and initiative
10. Must be a team player / self starter who pays attention to accuracy and detail
11. Must possess excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills to effectively provide departmental support in an effective and efficient manner
12. Must be able to take directions well and are able to work independently and as a team player
13. Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality
14. Advanced MS Office skills
SCHEDULE:
1. Full-Time, Monday – Friday, Day shift including occasional O/T requirements that may be required during the week and/or on weekends
