What you will do
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Information Services Team as we are actively recruiting for the position of Mechanical Designer – Software Programmer responsible for developing and maintaining customer facing systems, software, and automation libraries pertaining to the automation of deliverables in a 3D modeling environment. It would also involve designing and maintaining user interfaces, middleware software libraries and rulesets using CAD Software APIs. This position reports to the Software Development Supervisor.

What we’re looking for

Write, test, and deploy code for various CAD related software to meet business needs as they arise.

Complete accurate 3D designs, generation of BOM’s (Bill of Materials) for procurement and manufacturing requirements.

Understand and execute design processes using CAD tools and PLM software in order to understand process automation requirements.

Participate in architecture design decisions, and investigate SDKs, frameworks, and APIs.

Support internal processes through the creation of data models, workflows and automation.

Provide support to end users for existing software automation.

Team member for company training and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you need to succeed

Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma required, with a Software Programming skillset proven through relevant work experience or personal projects.

Previous machine design and/or machine build experience desirable.

2D & 3D CAD modeling software experience preferred (AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCad).

Knowledge of CAD Software APIs to perform CAD operations using iLogic / Visual Basic code.

Familiarity with C#, Visual Basic, Java, MS SQL Server, WPF, .NET Framework.

Aptitude developing applications leveraging JSON or XML based RESTful APIs.

Knowledge of object-oriented programming, client server architecture, relational
database management. -
Knowledge of software design principles and experience with Visual Studio.
