Job summary
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting-Pricing Assistant is responsible for processing quotes sent to the Pricing Department and AP invoices submitted to the Finance Department, as well as assisting in various projects between the two departments.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Accounting degree / previous accounting experiences are assets
- Self-motivated individual with strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail
- Highly professional with the ability to keep sensitive information confidential
- Strong proficiency in Excel, knowledge of advanced macro/functions are assets
- Ability to proactively and critically analyze quote requests and provide timely responses to AE and OSR
- Ability to develop effective relationships with people at all levels of the organization as well as industry colleagues
- Ability to quickly learn various computer software and systems
Working Conditions
- 40hours per week; occasional overtime required
- 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
Responsibilities
- Review and process AP invoices; ensure proper invoice coding, description, taxes and approvals
- Ensure proper invoice coding, taxes and approvals of AP invoices
- Assist in monitoring and reconciling vendor accounts for monthly accruals and payments
- Assist in processing monthly expense reports and general expense reimbursements
- Perform various GL reconciliations on a timely manner
- Organize invoice and documents filing and ensure documents can be easily located
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Process quotes sent to the Pricing Department efficiently and accurately to support the sales team’s requests
- Communicate the rational for pricing decisions where necessary, ensuring the direction of the pricing provided is clear and understood
- Manage proprietary quotes by providing accurate data (via cost analysis report)
- · Ensure all factors/costs are accurate when providing quote pricing via the QSM form
- Manage cost changes within pricing file/price group changes in PICK, following changes in costing from the Purchasing Department
- Assist in other areas of the Pricing department and additional duties as required

- Work in cooperation and communicate effectively with AEs and OSRs, and all other levels of the staff and outside vendors as needed
- Handle any confrontational matters in a professional manner
- Work effectively and efficiently with little supervision
- Keep co-workers informed of activities that have implications to their departments
- Openly communicate any successes, concerns, or problems related to the job
