We are currently seeking for Quality Control Technicians based out of our Caledon, Ottawa and Windsor locations.
What You'll Do Here
- Laboratory/field inspection and testing of asphalt, aggregates, soils and concrete.
- Field testing to include sampling, coring and compaction of various materials.
- Lab testing in accordance with contractual specifications using CSA, ASTM, OPSS and AASHTO methods.
- Assist in proper care, control and maintenance of testing equipment.
- Follow all company and regulatory safety policies and procedures.
- Assist when required with Geotechnical investigations.
- Complete reports and checklists as per company policies and/or contract requirements and advise supervisors of any non-conformances and deviations.
- Must be able to work on remote projects.
- Must be able to perform shiftwork including weekends.
- Perform other duties as instructed.
What You Bring to the Team
- Post-secondary education in a 2- or 3-year college program such as Civil / Construction Engineering or equivalent program is an asset.
- CCIL certification is an asset but not required.
- Prior construction or testing experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent oral and written communication.
- Able to use and maintain hand and power tools.
- Must have a valid G driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
- Able to perform heavy lifting >25kg.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with extended hours.
